The Cabin, Isle of Coll

This recently refurbished self-catering accommodation on the Isle of Coll in the Inner Hebrides is centrally located in the village of Arinagour

Situated behind the traditional terraced cottages in Arinagour, the cabin is in an ideal spot for anyone who wants to stay close to everything that the village has to offer, and for those who are travelling to Coll without a car. It’s a short walk from the cabin to the local shop, Post office, An Cridhe (the island’s community centre), the island cafe, and the hotel and bar.

The cabin has a simple layout – it has one living space with a small kitchen area, dining area and a comfortable double sofa bed. There is a small shower-room off the living space. The cabin faces towards the sea, and has lovely views over the rooftops of Shore Street’s cottages to the bay beyond.

Cabin facilities

  • Small kitchen area in the main living space, with hob, oven, microwave, and fridge with a small freezer section for ice etc
  • Dining area with table and chairs

  • A comfortable sofa bed that is very easy to convert from double bed to sofa and back
  • All bedding and towels are provided
  • USB charging ports in electric sockets
  • There’s no wifi in the cabin, but mobile coverage on the island is generally good. Free wifi is available at An Cridhe, the island’s community centre
  • Laundry facilities are available in the bunk house at An Cridhe, which is just a couple of minutes walk from the cabin
  • Small fenced-in garden to front

Accessibility

The cabin is at the back of Taigh Solas, one of the village houses. There is a short path with a few stone steps from the road to the cabin. There’s a small step up into the cabin and also a step up into the shower.

Parking

There is parking for one vehicle at the front of the house. Parking is also available a short walk away in the village on Shore Street.

There is an EV charging point at An Cridhe, the island community centre, which is just a minute’s drive from The Cabin
